Split View

The Split View consists of two side-by-side panels: an item list and the selected item’s details. Each panel scrolls independently.

When to Use

  • Use when you have a list of items, and each item has a lot of detail to view or edit.
  • Use when you want to be able to quickly navigate and see details from item to item
  • Examples could include: Customers, Employees, Transactions, etc.

Appearance & Behavior

The Stage appears within the item detail panel and applies only to the contents of that panel. An exposed item list helps simplify navigation by flattening two hierarchical levels into one view. This becomes particularly beneficial when the user wants to quickly navigate from item to item.

This is an example of how the Split View might be used. Purely an exploration. Do you have an exploration too? Send it to us!
